On Thursday, November 6, 2025, multiple US media outlets reported that the smart fitness brand Peloton announced another product recall, affecting approximately 833,000 Bike+ exercise bikes. This recall stems from reports from some users that the seat post broke off during use, resulting in two injuries.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a formal notice advising consumers to immediately stop using the affected products. According to the CPSC notification, the recalled products cover all original Bike+ bikes manufactured between 2019 and 2022, sold between January 2020 and April 2025.
Peloton stated that the company will provide users with an improved seat post assembly free of charge, which users can install themselves at home. Peloton emphasized in its statement: "Product safety and user health are always our top priorities." The company also urged users to apply for replacement parts as soon as possible to ensure safe use.
It's worth noting that this is Peloton's second recall due to seatpost issues. Back in May 2023, Peloton recalled its base model bikes, affecting 2.2 million units. At that time, the company received 35 reports of breakage, resulting in 13 injuries, including wrist fractures and cuts. According to the company, that recall incurred at least $40 million in parts replacement costs and caused approximately 15,000 to 20,000 users to suspend their subscriptions.
