The market trend clearly indicates that low-margin pure OEM orders are shrinking. Manufacturers equipped with independent intelligent R&D capabilities, mature green production systems and full compliance certification systems will gain greater competitive advantages in global trade.
Meanwhile, Impulse (002899.SZ), a leading Chinese fitness equipment manufacturer, accelerates its layout in intelligent and wellness fitness tracks. Impulse's wholly-owned subsidiary, Impulse (Hainan) Sports Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd., has acquired an industrial land parcel covering 66,700 ㎡ in Haikou. The company will invest in building the Hainan Impulse Smart Sports Industrial Park.
The project focuses on R&D and mass production of intelligent fitness equipment and rehabilitation & wellness fitness devices, with strong investment in AI digital fitness solutions. Earlier in 2026, Impulse established the Hainan AI sports subsidiary to lay technical foundations for smart fitness innovation.
Leveraging the preferential policies and geographic advantages of Hainan Free Trade Port, the industrial park targets markets across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other emerging regions. It will develop high-value intelligent wellness equipment and comprehensive digital gym solutions, further strengthening Impulse's global competitiveness in smart fitness.
In addition, China's new mandatory national standard GB 47368-2026 Safety Requirements for Indoor Stationary Fitness Equipment will officially take effect on October 1, 2027. All indoor fixed fitness equipment including treadmills, strength machines, elliptical trainers and exercise bikes must comply with updated mechanical safety, stability and hazardous substance limits. Manufacturers and buyers need to arrange product upgrading and testing plans in advance to meet global market access requirements.
