History:
Fitness Brasil Expo, formerly known as IHRSA Fitness Brasil, the Latin American Fitness Conference and Exhibition, has been held annually since around 2000, boasting a 25-year history. As one of the oldest and most influential fitness expos in Latin America, the expo was jointly founded by Fitness Brasil and the International Human Fitness Association (IHRSA) in the early 2000s with the goal of introducing global fitness industry concepts to the Brazilian market. The first few editions primarily served as industry conferences and small-scale exhibitions. With the rise of the Brazilian fitness market, the expo has steadily expanded, attracting a growing number of exhibitors and visitors from Latin America and around the world. Today, Fitness Brasil Expo has become Latin America's leading fitness industry event and a prominent presence in the global fitness expo landscape.
2. Location and Frequency:
The expo is most commonly held in São Paulo, Brazil's economic center, providing convenient access to markets throughout the country and surrounding countries. In recent years, the exhibition has been held at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo, typically for three days in August. With the exception of the global "mask" lockdown in 2020, which restricted movement, the exhibition has maintained its annual frequency, maintaining its enduring influence within the industry. The 2024 edition marked the exhibition's 25th anniversary, with visitor numbers reaching a 25-year high.
3. Unique Positioning:
Unlike traditional consumer-focused bodybuilding and fitness exhibitions, Fitness Brasil Expo combines the dual attributes of an "industry conference + trade show." On the one hand, as a trade show, it brings together a wide range of fitness equipment, equipment, and services for display and business exchange. On the other hand, stemming from the IHRSA conference background, it consistently offers high-quality educational forums and training courses, catering to the knowledge needs of fitness club operators, trainers, and other professionals. This combined exhibition and conference model makes it unique among global fitness exhibitions, offering a large-scale exhibition similar to Germany's FIBO while inheriting the IHRSA conference's focus on sharing industry trends and management experience. For example, nearly 200 keynote speeches and seminars were held during the 2024 exhibition, covering topics such as fitness club management, marketing, and new technology applications, helping industry players grasp the latest trends.
